How can I pay for sessions, prints or products?

For your convenience we have the option of Debit, MasterCard, Visa or cash.

Can I purchase a disc with the images?

All prints and products are ordered through the studio to ensure that you receive the best quality possible.  A disc of web-sized images with a small copyright symbol at the bottom can be purchased.  These images work well for web use, email and Facebook.  Etheridge Photographic retains all rights to the images.

How long does a session last?

Photo sessions are never rushed.  On average, a photo session takes 1 ½ hours.  We capture different looks with a minimum of two backgrounds and various family combinations.  Newborn sessions can take a little longer, depending on breaks for diaper changes, feedings, etc.

When can I expect my images to arrive?

Approximately 3-4 weeks from the time the order is placed.  Canvases and albums will take more time.

What if I want to order prints a year or two from now?

I keep all the images, backed-up on my computer as well as on disc, indefinitely.  You can order images at any time.

What should I wear to the session?

Depending on the type of session, we will go over specific options for clothing.  In general, it is best to avoid busy patterns, logos, etc. as these distract from the most important part of the image – you!

How should I prepare my children for the photo session?

Try not to put a lot of pressure on them before they arrive at the studio – instead of telling them they are going to a photo session, tell them they are going to go play at Kelli’s studio.  And try to avoid the “say cheese” moments – we will work on various ways to get them to smile naturally.  I want kids to have fun while they are here – and I want the parents to enjoy themselves as well.  So, just relax and allow the natural moments to unfold in front of the camera.

What happens after the session?

Within one to two weeks you will return to the studio to see your portraits projected larger than life.  Together we will narrow down the images to your favourites, be able to view various options such as B&W or colour, as well as custom cropping.   We can choose the framing that best suits the final portrait and even create Storyboards from your favourite images.  Please come prepared to make final decisions on your portrait order.  You will earn 10% in product credit for all orders placed at the selection session.

How long does the Selection Session last and can I bring my kids?

The Selection Session usually lasts 30 – 60 minutes.  Your kids are always welcome in the studio, but as a mom I know that they can sometimes be a bit distracting.  If you have the option, I suggest coming without the kids; and besides, it’s a great excuse to get out by yourself.

How can I prepare for the Selection Session?

Have a look around your home and visualize the spaces in which you plan to add the family art to your walls.  Consider wall colour, wall size and surrounding furnishings.  You can bring in images of your wall space to the session so that we can find the best piece of art for your home.  Also, make a list of any family and friends to whom you plan on giving prints/products.  This “homework” will make the decision making much easier.

Do you do any retouching?

Minor retouching is done on all prints ordered (with the exception of 4x6s).   If you have any specific retouching requests please let me know at the time the order is placed.  There is an additional fee for major retouching.  The retouching rate is $60/hour (you will be charged by the minute for each image retouched).

Do you have a Baby Registry?

Yes, you can register for a Baby Registry at Etheridge Photographic.  Custom registry cards will be created to include with the Baby Shower invitation.  Friends and family can make contributions towards prints, products, sessions or Baby Plans.  Your online account is credited with their contribution.
